First we would like to give you, as a member, or a prospective member of this site, an insight to the conditions
that we hope will help this site run smoothly with the memberships interests coming first, to do that we must listen
to your opinions, and what you would like to see as a member of this site, if we cannot, then we will tell you why not.

Unlike other sites,This site is not for the Romany exclusively, by that we mean that we are interested in helping,
anyone that may come from a Romany Family, or it maybe that you have found that you have a marriage into,
or from a Romany family, with the research into your heritage, if you are a gentile or a Romany, we will try and
help you with your research, as we believe that this will be of interest to all of its members.

This site was created to help and serve its members in the best possible way that it can, we may not get it right all
of the time, but our intention is to try and get it right most of the time, Do not be frightened to ask a question, there
is no such thing as a silly question,and we mean that.

If you become a member of this site, there are a few rules that we would like you to know about, that are so easy
to keep, Here is the Site Rules page.

As a member you will find that the best way to use this site is through its threads, Threads are explained on the
site help ''How To'' pages, if you do not know how to do something, or do not understand how to do something,
again just ask, we don't mind, another way to use the site is by private messages, a private message is just that,
Private, it is a message that you can send to another member of this site Privately, no other member can read a
private message but the person that it was intended for.

If you join this site, remember that you will not be able to change your user name once created, this is one of the
rule of a wetpaint.com site, When you create your user name, give it a distinct name, something that you are happy
with, that other members of this site will know you by, to find out what other members are using as their user name,
open the members profile list, you do not have to use your own name, as you will have seen a lot of the membership
have not, its what you feel happy with that counts, if wetpaint will not let you use your choice of a user name it will
probable mean that someone else is using that as a user name, so you will have to use another name, when it comes
to your Email address No one on this site can see your Email Address, only you know that, and there is no way they

The site encourage those members that have information that could help other members with their
research into their heritage, to do so, please do not feel that your information is less that any other information, do
not think that it as been said before, so why bother, it could be that, that peace of information is what another member
is looking for, and as missed in a previous thread.

When entering information to this website please keep in mind that your family history is also another persons family
history, and for that reason please try to keep personal information to a limited degree, that means do not enter the
details of living people, and when it comes to the deceased, do not enter information if the deceased is less than
30 years from death, The census of this country does not allow records to be shown unless they are over one hundred
years old, But in a lot of cases the research interests of members will be a lot less than this, that is why this site keeps
to a 30 year rule, but at all times use your common sense in this matter, remember you can use the private message
facility to inform other member to what you think is private information.

When it come to the census having to be over one hundred years before you can see entries of a census, i have known
that it is possible to see more recent census information, to do that you have to prove that you are a close family
member to the information, or at least it is your own personal family line that you would like to see from the census.

Next, this as to be said, This site Romany/Gypsy Connections, does not take responsibility to any information that is
uploaded to the site, whether that information is from the Threads or article within this site, by any member.

One more thing, Please enjoy this site, it is here for your benefit, to help you research your family history, be patient
when we cannot help you in the way that you may have wished, we do our best, and remember always try to help
other members of this site in a honest and respectful way.

The Romany are a distinct race of people, in their own right, and is recognized as such, and as its own social history
and beliefs, and this site would like to try and repair, the view that the general public as of the Romany or Gypsy, that
they may in some instances read about in the press, the press at times disfigures the truth of the Romany, for
sensationalism, the Romany should not be judged by the word of the press, there are a million or so Romany, that
live and work in this country, that go about their business in a true and respectful manner in their dealings with the
general public, but we rarely hear about that side of the Romany, the majority of Romany or Gypsy are peaceful
law abiding people, just wanting to get on with their live, as others do.

The Traveler, or Travelers, are another distinct race of people, that may go back into history even further than the
Romany!!, if there are travelers out there that would like to join this site, you are most welcome.
